En el presente trabajo se analiza por qué la Superveniencia Fuerte, el Argumento de la Superveniencia y el Reduccionismo Funcional Local arrojan conclusiones adecuadas para dar luces al problema de la relación psicofísica. En primer lugar, se analizan los diferentes tipos de superveniencia, explicando por qué la Superveniencia Fuerte constituye un elemento fundamental para la formulación de una teoría explicativa del vínculo psicofísico. Además, se presenta el Argumento de la Superveniencia sustentado en el Principio del Cierre Causal y el Principio de la Exclusión Causal con el objetivo de probar que una mera relación de superveniencia, resulta insuficiente para explicar la eficacia de lo mental. En segundo lugar, se examina el Reduccionismo Funcional Local de Kim, mostrando cómo puede contribuir a solucionar los problemas inherentes al reduccionismo nageliano, a elaborar una explicación reduccionista para resolver el problema del ascenso explicativo y a defender el Principio de Herencia Causal. En tercer lugar, se evalúan tanto las objeciones presentadas por Block y Horgan y se exponen las contra-objeciones que se derivarían de los postulados filosóficos de Kim. Finalmente, se presentan las conclusiones de la investigación insistiendo en que los postulados antemencionados instauran una propuesta plausible para explicar la relación entre lo mental y físico.

Abstract: In this paper we analyze why Strong Supervenience, the Supervenience Argument and Local Functional Reductionism yield adequate conclusions to shed light on the problem of the psychophysical relation. First, the different types of supervenience are analyzed, explaining why Strong Supervenience constitutes a fundamental element for the formulation of an explanatory theory of the psychophysical bond. In addition, the Supervenience Argument based on the Principle of Causal Closure and the Principle of Causal Exclusion is presented with the aim of proving that a mere supervenience relation is insufficient to explain the efficacy of the mental. Secondly, Kim's Local Functional Reductionism is examined, showing how it can contribute to solve the problems inherent in Nagelian reductionism, to elaborate a reductionist explanation to solve the problem of explanatory ascent and to defend the Principle of Causal Inheritance. Third, both the objections presented by Block and Horgan are evaluated and the counter-objections that would follow from Kim's philosophical postulates are exposed. Finally, the conclusions of the investigation are presented, insisting that the above postulates establish a plausible proposal to explain the relationship between the mental and the physical.
